John is the owner and Managing Member of Berrigan Litchfield, LLC. He became Principal in 1988 after joining the firm as an associate. He has more than 40 years of experience representing clients in sophisticated and complex civil litigation, maritime related matters, and corporate and finance related matters on all sides of a transaction.

John has worked with clients such as national banks, individuals, institutional investors, family businesses, government entities, foreign investors, start-up companies, as well as acting as local counsel to out of state firms.

John was admitted to the Louisiana bar in 1976.  He attended Louisiana State University in New Orleans, (B.A. 1972) for is undergraduate work, and Tulane University of Louisiana, (J.D. 1976) for his law degree.
